International Expo 2025 – Kansai, Osaka

Osaka was chosen to be the hosting city for the International Expo that will be held from May 5th to November 3rd with the main theme “Designed Future Society of Our Lives”.
The International Expo that was also held in Osaka in 1970 is famous as the first one that became a profitable event: at that time, together with the influx of the Olympic Games held in Tokyo in 1964, the Expo is said to have contributed greatly to the success and growth of the Japanese economy.
This time too the Expo will follow the Tokyo Olympic Games that are going to be held in 2020, and it is expected to be an even greater economic success.
In the 1970 edition a lot of the new technology expected to become of daily usage in the near future was exposed, including electric cars and mobile phones; as for this 2025 edition, it can probably be expected to focus on projects for a sustainable development of the society, in line with the UN goals (SDG, Sustainable Development Goals).
Also, while in 1970 the foreign visitors accounted for only 2.5% of the total, this time, thanks to a more global linking of the country, many more foreign participants are expected to take part in the event.
From now on other important events will also be held in Japan, such as the Rugby World Cup in 2019 and the World Masters Games in 2021, so in case you visit Japan in those occasion you are more than welcome to come and see us here at Takemoto as well.
